In 2019, our district was devastated by historic flooding caused by climate change. Nebraskans are feeling the effects of climate change every day. We need to mobilize as a country to combat climate change just like we mobilized as a country at the onset of World War II.

This means investing in renewable energy sources, enhancing our infrastructure to withstand extreme weather, and prioritizing sustainable practices in agriculture and industry. We must support policies that promote clean air and water, protect our natural resources, and create green jobs that will boost our economy.

Together, we can build a resilient future that safeguards our communities and preserves the planet for generations to come. It’s time for all of us to take action – because the health of our environment is the health of our people. Let’s rise to the challenge and create a sustainable legacy for our children and grandchildren.
